I am all for going against the status quo. In fact I think that the more we stay with the status quo the more trouble we get into sometimes. We need positive change and this will come from those willing to make a change in the first place. It is amazing how much people don't like to change. I think provisions like student loans should be used for what they are intended for- getting through school, not partying it up. If you use your student loan right you will be able to pay it off in no time once you graduate and get a job, leaving you debt free at the start of your career. We need bold ideas that smash the status quo to jump-start some real economic growth. However, I can see this program being wide open to fraud.
