I will be closing my account. Citibank makes the false claim that they want to “thank” their customers. So increasing my monthly rate is the “thanks” I get for have a 10+ year account with them? Good bye and good riddance.

I agree with Hunter. I am all for going against the status quo. In fact I think that the more we stay with the status quo the more trouble we get into sometimes. We need positive change and this will come from those willing to make a change in the first place. It is amazing how much people don’t like to change.

I think provisions like student loans should be used for what they are intended for- getting through school, not partying it up. If you use your student loan right you will be able to pay it off in no time once you graduate and get a job, leaving you debt free at the start of your career. This issue is people aren’t using them this way.

I like this innovative approach to problem solving. We need bold ideas that smash the status quo to jump-start some real economic growth.

However, I can see this program being wide open to fraud. Student loand can be used for a number of reasons, including funding an unsustainable lifestyle. It would be easy to live it up on the student loan dime, and then wipe the debt after graduating. What do you think?

I really believe these laws are in affect too. I’m glad for it, since they all help increase my life and the lives of everyone else.

It’s like karma, what goes around, comes around. Especially with giving and tithing, sowing and reaping. You can’t go wrong with that.

Credit card insurance is a waste of money IMO. If you used that money to pay down your debt, you would save more just from interest payments alone. The credit card company will require you to exhaust all other ‘options’ before halting payments, so the stress of the whole ordeal just isn’t worth it.

The other day I received a call from my credit card company asking me if I wanted to get credit card insurance. And it sounded so foreign to me. I told them that I did not need it – I needed to research it for myself first. I guess like everything else, you need to read the fine print. It would be very unpleasant to find out that the credit card insurance can only save me when I’m down to my last few dollars.

Good advice. Not only are secured credit cards great to prevent fraud, they’re also great for building up poor or non-existent credit.
